What should I draw?
Does your child love to create art, but doesn't know where to start? Here are some ideas to get the creative juices flowing at home!
-Think about wings. Illustrate the kind of wings you would need to fly to the moon…
-Create your own comic strip…
-Draw an egg in stages as it hatches, what’s inside?
-Draw life from a fly’s point of view…
-Be an ant; draw a picture of what you would see…
-Given a Kleenex think of 20 different things you could use it for, list them, and illustrate several of your favorites…
-Design your own coat of arms…
-Create a front page of a newspaper containing important events in your life…
-Design an advertisement for your dream job; include text to explain what duties you would have…
-Draw things that make noise and illustrate their sound…
-If you could be ANYTHING else for one day what would you be? (draw a picture)…

-You wake up one morning to find that you have turned into your favorite food, draw a picture of what you look like…

- Pick a noun from a dictionary or from a hat at random and illustrate it….

- Examine an object for one minute. Put the object away. Then draw a picture of what you remember about it.

-Take your shoe off and draw it.
-Go through a magazine and cut out a photograph of something you enjoy or find interesting to look at. Draw a picture of this image—only turn it upside down. (This will make you look closely at what you're drawing.)
-Show someone how to do something (like making a paper airplane) in a sequence of drawn pictures (with as few words as possible.)
-Fill a page with drawings of bugs, sea shells, or something you collect.
